And in the beginning...

Hello blogger world. Or, should I say, hello Caysie (you persistent cousin of mine).

I suppose a formal introduction is necessary if someone is to stumble upon this haphazard blog of mine. My name is Amanda Gilbank. I'm an 18 year old girl, fresh out of high school, and embarking on that ever-so "interesting" journey that ensues after graduation. To be perfectly honest and frank, I am nothing special and certainly a wall flower, but I do hope there is a sliver of the e-population that will find this blog at least worth the read.

It's hard to begin a to tell a story that isn't even finished yet, but I'll post the most milestone-ish or interesting things that stand out in my life.

Right now, I'm still living with my mother and two little brothers. It's a fine living situation, and I am in no position to move out quite yet. Hopefully that will be in the cards sometime soon, though. I'm working at a restaurant in my town called Javelina Cantina. I'm a hostess, and I work anywhere from 30-50 hours a week. It isn't ideal, but it works for now and I'm pretty happy with my temporary "career" (if you can call it that).

Other than work, I spent time with my boyfriend, Nick, and my puppy, Clark, play video games, watch whatever happens to catch my interest, play card games, and read. Basically anything that can keep me safe in my comfortable bedroom. Am I a homebody and introvert? Probably. Why not do what you're comfortable with, though?

So, let's see. This is the book I am currently reading.

Just so you know, you'll hear a lot about Kurt Vonnegut. He is my favorite author  and literary hero.
